Tips on InvisalignⓇ Treatments

Invisalign braces are a great orthodontic option for patients who don’t want to wear uncomfortable traditional braces. This type of teeth straightening treatment is far less painful and a lot more convenient. However, Invisalign is still an orthodontic treatment. So, to get the most out of your Invisalign braces, we’ve provided a couple of tips and tricks to make sure your Invisalign treatment does its job correctly and as quickly as possible.

1. Floss every day.

You might already be brushing daily, but when is the last time you flossed? While undergoing an Invisalign treatment, flossing should be more important than ever. Aligners are known to hold gunk that’s leftover from meals and sometimes even brushing. Be sure to always clean thoroughly between your teeth with floss every day…. And sometimes even twice a day.

2. Stick to the 48-hour instruction.

Your aligner trays should be worn as much as possible during your first forty-eight hours. Most dentists recommend only removing them to brush your teeth, but they should go back in immediately after. Of course, you should wear your aligners as much as possible to get a better result, but this goes double for your first two days.

3. Commit to wearing them at least 22 hours every day.

Your aligner trays only work properly if you wear them for most of your day. If you’re not wearing them for at least twenty-two hours every day, then you are less likely to get positive results in a shorter amount of time.

4. Change your aligners on time and in the right order.

If the dentist tells you it is time to upgrade or change your aligners, you should change them. If your dentist tells you that you should hold off on changing them and to wait a few more days then you should seriously listen to them. You might risk throwing off your projected timeline if you don’t follow correct instructions form your dentist.

These are just a few tips to help your Invisalign treatment go by as smoothly and quickly as possible. If you have any questions or would like to learn more tips, contact offices in San Juan, PR to speak with Dr. Duran
